Brazilian, G-string or bikini line

These are three rows on the menu and the difference is simply how much is removed. A bikini line, from $25, tidies the edges, the hair that would sit outside swimwear or underwear, and leaves the rest. A G-string, from $30, takes more from the sides and the top, to a narrower strip. A Brazilian, at $39, removes everything, front to back.

If this is a first appointment and you are not sure which you want, book the one you are confident about. Moving up to a Brazilian later is straightforward. The reverse is a matter of waiting.

Hair length does more than anything else

The hair wants to be around five millimetres, roughly the length of a grain of rice. Shorter than that and the wax has nothing to grip, so hair is missed and the result is patchy through no fault of the technique. For a first Brazilian that usually means two to three weeks of growth.

Shaving between appointments works against you. A razor cuts at the surface and resets the growth cycle unevenly, so the following wax has hairs at several different lengths and only lifts some of them.

How often, and what to expect afterwards

Most people settle at every three to four weeks. The first few appointments are the least predictable, because the hair is not all growing on the same schedule yet. After two or three visits the growth tends to synchronise and the regrowth comes in finer.

Skin in this area is thin and usually stays pink for a few hours, which is why it is worth booking a day or two before an event rather than the morning of one.
