What a lift does, and what it does not

A lash lift reshapes the lashes you already have. They are set over a curved form with a solution that softens the lash enough to take a new shape and then sets it there, so instead of pointing straight out they curve upward from the root. The effect is on how open the eye looks.

It adds nothing. Not length, not thickness. If your lashes are sparse, a lift will curl the sparse lashes. That is the honest limit of the treatment and the thing most worth knowing before you book.

The lift and the tint are two rows

A lash lift is $50 and a lash tint is $20, and they are separate services on the menu. Most people book both, because fair lashes need the colour before the curl reads at all. Add each one when you book so the time is set aside for both.

Tints use a dye, and patch testing before a first appointment is standard practice in the industry. Ask the studio about it when you book.

How long it lasts

Six to eight weeks, and it fades rather than ends. Each lash carries its curl until it sheds naturally, and as new uncurled lashes grow through the effect softens gradually. There is no removal appointment and no point at which it looks half done. Somewhere in that window you will notice it looks less lifted than it did, and that is when to rebook.

A lift, or extensions

Extensions glue an additional fibre to each lash. They add length and density that is not yours, and they need infills every two to three weeks to stay even as the lashes they are attached to shed. A lift has nothing attached to it and nothing to infill.

The studio does not currently offer extensions, so a lift is a different thing rather than a cheaper version of one.

On the day, and how to book

The appointment is done with your eyes closed. Come without eye makeup if you can, because anything oily on the lashes has to be cleaned off first and that eats into the appointment. Vee and Anna do the lash work, and both rows above book their own slot on Fresha.
